The Career Guy has from time to time suggested that individuals consider moving to a different part of the country, if they are continually unsuccessful in finding work in southern California.  The employment outlook is somewhat bleaker here, and the future looks very uncertain.

This article from the Wall Street Journal suggests the benefit of relocating.  Not only might the opportunities be better, but being considered as a “local” presents certain advantages.

The Career Office has become aware of opportunities for 2 teachers in the K-12 area at the Africa Bible College in the Republic of  Malawi, where TMC graduates Matt and Rachel Floreen are based. There is also the possibility that a local church would offer to support these two missions volunteers.

CAEE is a non-profit professional association whose members include California college and university career services staff and school district personnel administrators. For over 70 years, CAEE has been fostering cooperation and interaction among those of us involved in the preparation and employment of new teachers. CAEE programs include an annual Northern California and Southern California Teacher Recruitment Fair and Outstanding First-Year Teacher recognition awards.
