Maison de Lumiere (the Lighthouse) orphanage in Port-au-Prince Haiti is looking for an ESL school administrator and several ESL teachers/tutors for the remainder of the current school year, throughout the summer, and for the school year September 2010 through June 2011. The students range in age from 11-20, are at different grade levels for math and English, and are behind for their ages. Creole is their first language; most have some English speaking ability and some French reading, writing, and speaking ability.

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (Education degree preferred)
Experience interacting with junior/senior high ages in school or ministry setting
Experience preferred but not required:
ESL background
Teaching experience strongly preferred
Cross-cultural teaching experience
Knowledge of French or Creole a plus
Costs:
This is a volunteer position; you will not receive a salary and will need to cover your expenses or raise support as a missionary.
You will be responsible for your airfare to and from Haiti.
You will be responsible for your Room and Board: $500* a month (this includes 3 simple meals a day, drinking water, and all utilities; you will live in a dorm-type setting).
You will be responsible for all incidentals.
*The $500 price is subject to change, as food prices etc. could go up in Haiti.
