Teaching/Ministry Opportunity

The Career Office has become aware of opportunities for 2 teachers in the K-12 area at the Africa Bible College in the Republic of  Malawi, where TMC graduates Matt and Rachel Floreen are based. There is also the possibility that a local church would offer to support these two missions volunteers.

Teach English in Haiti

Maison de Lumiere (the Lighthouse) orphanage in Port-au-Prince Haiti is looking for an ESL school administrator and several ESL teachers/tutors for the remainder of the current school year, throughout the summer, and for the school year September 2010 through June 2011.  The students range in age from 11-20, are at different grade levels for math and English, and are behind for their ages.  Creole is their first language; most have some English speaking ability and some French reading, writing, and speaking ability.

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (Education degree preferred)
Experience interacting with junior/senior high ages in school or ministry setting

Experience preferred but not required:
ESL background
Teaching experience strongly preferred
Cross-cultural teaching experience
Knowledge of French or Creole a plus

This is a volunteer position; you will not receive a salary and will need to cover your expenses or raise support as a missionary.
You will be responsible for your airfare to and from Haiti.
You will be responsible for your Room and Board: $500* a month (this includes 3 simple meals a day, drinking water, and all utilities; you will live in a dorm-type setting).
You will be responsible for all incidentals.
*The $500 price is subject to change, as food prices etc. could go up in Haiti.

Christian College Law School Scholarship

In order to minister to graduates and employees from Christian colleges and universities, Trinity Law School is offering a scholarship worth 50% of the cost of tuition for the entire three-year law school degree. This is available to any graduate from a regionally-accredited Christian college or university that is a member of the North American Coalition for Christian Admission Professionals (, and meets the requirements for admission to Trinity’s regular JD program. Upon completion of this degree graduates will be qualified to take the California bar exam. This scholarship also applies to the immediate family members of the employees at these universities.

Vision of Hope Internship

Vision of Hope Residential Treatment Center is a rehabilitation center located in Lafayette, IN associated with Faith Baptist Church working with girls between the ages of 14-28 struggling with unplanned pregnancies, drug/alcohol abuse, eating disorders, and habits of self-harm.  The ministry of Vision of Hope is Christ-centered, Bible based, and individualized to meet the needs of each girl participating in the program.  The program is highly structured in a loving home-like environment.
