Children’s Hunger Fund Jobs

Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) is an evangelical Christian non-profit organization founded in 1991. The mission of CHF is to alleviate the suffering of children by equipping God’s Church to communicate the Gospel through effective compassion ministry.
The Webmaster provides development, construction, maintenance, and support for all of Children’s Hunger Fund’s websites and online applications. This full-time, exempt position is located at corporate headquarters in Pacoima, CA, reports to the Creative Coordinator, and works closely with the Creative and Marketing Team. The compensation offered is $30,000-40,000 per year, and includes a generous benefit package (medical, dental, retirement, etc.). The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with extensive web design background, and strong literary and organizational skills.

Teach English in Haiti

Maison de Lumiere (the Lighthouse) orphanage in Port-au-Prince Haiti is looking for an ESL school administrator and several ESL teachers/tutors for the remainder of the current school year, throughout the summer, and for the school year September 2010 through June 2011.  The students range in age from 11-20, are at different grade levels for math and English, and are behind for their ages.  Creole is their first language; most have some English speaking ability and some French reading, writing, and speaking ability.

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (Education degree preferred)
Experience interacting with junior/senior high ages in school or ministry setting

Experience preferred but not required:
ESL background
Teaching experience strongly preferred
Cross-cultural teaching experience
Knowledge of French or Creole a plus

This is a volunteer position; you will not receive a salary and will need to cover your expenses or raise support as a missionary.
You will be responsible for your airfare to and from Haiti.
You will be responsible for your Room and Board: $500* a month (this includes 3 simple meals a day, drinking water, and all utilities; you will live in a dorm-type setting).
You will be responsible for all incidentals.
*The $500 price is subject to change, as food prices etc. could go up in Haiti.

Metro (LACMTA) Regional Communications is seeking a professional to set up manage and provide content for social media engagement; write content for quarterly project updates and other human interest stories; and, provide graphics support to Community Relations on the public outreach efforts for the construction of the Sepulveda Pass Widening Project. The position requires time in the field as well as the Integrated Project Office located at the Howard Hughes Center in Culver City. Time may also be required at Metro headquarters at Gateway Center in the Union Station complex of Los Angeles and at off-site trailers located along the alignment as needed. Infrequent alternate work hours that include evening, some nights and possible weekend work may be needed; flexibility in work schedule is required. Opportunity is ideal for a career-minded individual who appreciates the teamwork and accomplishment of completing a large public works project.
